È una mostra monografica che si è sviluppata all’interno degli spazi museali del Convento del Carmine a Marsala a cura di Sergio Troisi, raccoglie parte della produzione artistica degli ultimi anni dell’artista Loredana Longo.
Spiega il curatore, Sergio Troisi: “Nel lavoro ormai più che ventennale di Loredana Longo, la strategia operativa dell’impronta ritorna più volte, con materiali, tecniche e esiti tra loro anche molto differenti che condividono quello che è l’orizzonte di ricerca dell’artista catanese: un territorio di tensioni in cui nessuna componente riveste un significato univoco, una drammaturgia del conflitto che dalle prove di esordio maggiormente legate a un dato individuale si è andata progressivamente allargando a comprendere i grandi temi politici e sociali del nostro tempo, eviscerandone drammi e contraddizioni con un registro formale e linguistico che stringe in un solo percorso video, performance, fotografia, oggetti d’uso quotidiano, investendoli di una dirompente eversione semantica.”

It's a monographic exhibition that unfolded within the museum spaces of the Convento del Carmine in Marsala, curated by Sergio Troisi. It gathers a portion of the artistic production from the recent years of the artist Loredana Longo.
Curator Sergio Troisi explains: "In Loredana Longo's work, which spans more than twenty years, the operational strategy of the imprint recurs several times, with materials, techniques, and outcomes that are often very different but share the research horizon of the artist from Catania: a territory of tensions in which no component assumes a univocal meaning, a dramaturgy of conflict that, from the initial trials more closely linked to an individual datum, has progressively expanded to encompass the major political and social themes of our time, dissecting their dramas and contradictions with a formal and linguistic register that condenses video, performance, photography, everyday objects into a single path, investing them with a disruptive semantic subversion."

Un lavoro in cui l’artista fa esplodere dei vasi di argilla fresca, dei semplici cilindri, per bloccare il momento distruttivo e creativo nella forma ancora malleabile.
In seguito i vasi vengono cotti nei forni ceramici.
A work in which the artist detonates freshly molded clay pots, simple cylinders, to capture the destructive and creative moment in their still malleable form. Subsequently, the pots are fired in the kiln.

Sulla Loro Pelle / Performance 2023
L’artista presenta una nuova performance, che lei stessa definisce “mimetica”, una sorta di quadro/scena.
Tre donne sono le interpreti della performance e si mimetizzeranno tra le reti dell’installazione L’artista in un secondo momento entra in scena con un piccone e un martello per liberare i piedi delle tre donne, immersi in blocchi di cemento.

The artist presents a new performance, which she herself defines as "camouflage," a sort of painting/scene.
Three women are the performers of the performance and they will camouflage themselves among the nets of the installation. The artist later enters the scene with a pickaxe and a hammer to break to break the cement block in which the performers' feet are immersed.
